Hi all

The hostings due on the site in the next couple of months, and as its got busier I'm going to have to take a higher package this year.

Some have probably noticed the banner ad's on the main forum page, which hopefully doesn't spoil anyone's enjoyment of the forum as they don't appear in any of the forums or while you are in threads.

Obviously one of the main things about us is that we don't have adverts at the top of every page, littered down the sides and practically everywhere you click, nor do we ask for donations like some forums, and I have no intention to change that. However, it does cost money to run the site every year. Over the years I think I have spent about £1000 on the forum, so whilst not a fortune, its all money.

I'll also say here, in case people think otherwise, I am not trying to make a profit from the forum, even though it shouldn't make a difference if I did. If enough people use the banners and links to sign up for things and it pays for next years hosting in full, the next £150 made will be used to pay for an upgrade to the forum software. There aren't many major differnces to the one we are using, but vbulletin 4 (google if you want to see whats different) is slightly better and you can do more with it. Also, contrary to popular belief, you don't make thousands of £'s a month from affiliate links. Most bookies pay a revenue share for 3-6 months, so if someone loses £10 in 6 months you make £3. Not exactly life changing lol.

If anyone is thinking of opening an account with any of the bookies listed below, would you mind using our links, we earn a small amount of commission if you do. It doesn't affect the prices you get, the sign up bonus you get or anything like that, but would help towards the running costs of the forum.

Most the bookies offer a free match bet, I've tried to say if and what that is when I have put a link in.

Also, if you don't already use it, have a look at the topcashback link at the end, that can save you loads a year, doesn't cost you a penny, and will also help the forum :)

Most free bets are by way of cash match, ie you bet £20 get a £20 free bet, new customers only etc. Be sure to read the terms and conditions before signing up.

Racebets £100 deposit match

Coral - Up to £50 free matched bet

http://affiliate.coral.co.uk/processing/clickthrgh.asp?btag=a_9780b_2953

Skybet - get £10 free - no deposit needed

Betfred - £50 free bet

Betdaq - £200 free bets

Paddy Power - Now a £50 match bet

Bet365 - Up to £200 free bets

One really good thing about bet365 is the live streaming of the races. Put a bet of 50p or more on any race and stream it live to your pc. Most are probably thinking - big deal, I have ATR or RUK. The live streams on bet365 are about 5 seconds faster than ATR, for betting in running purposes, thats quite an advantage over anyone watching on ATR

Ladbrokes - £75 free bet (ignore the banner saying £50)

William Hill - £25 free bet

Betfair - Place a £25 bet and if it loses you get your stake refunded.

Topcashback

This is worth signing up to if you don't already use it.
Topchasback is a cashback site where you can get cashback on loads of your online purchases, from stuff like your shopping to tescos, to insurance, breakdown cover, pretty much everything you ever buy will be on there.
It works by you opening an account with TCB, searching for the company you are about to buy from, using the link within TCB to goto their site, and you get money back on whatever you buy. What you get back varies greatly from merchant to merchant, but as an example, Sky TV with sports, broadband and phone pays you £160 + £100 in Marks and Spencer vouchers. So in total £260 back. The prices are the same as if you went direct to their site and signed up. Click the banner below and have a look at the site, any questions just ask, I've been using them for a couple of years myself so can probably help with simple questions. For anyone using quidco, its along the same lines, but TCB usually pays slightly more, theres no yearly fee, and tracking seems to be slightly better.
A quick tip for using TCB. It works using cookies (every company puts these on your computer when you are shopping online) to track you so it knows who to pay the cashback to. If you have ever been to the site you are shopping at before, chances are you will already have a cookie there from them, if thats the case, the cashback is likely not to track and you won't get paid. You need to either clear your cookies before going through TCB or use a different browser. Thats what I do. I use firefox or google chrome for browsing so I have set IE to go to TCB as my homepage and don't use IE for anything else. That way the only cookies are ones that have been put there by TCB and I don't think I've ever not been paid since doing it that way.

Amazon

Sure everyone knows who Amazon are and what they sell!

Col,

I'm happy to contribute towards site upkeep, as I'm sure some others would be.

I already have accounts with those bookmakers. Is there any gain for you if I use your link when placing a bet with them?

No Grey, but thanks for asking.

I'll update the thread with any offers bookies send to me over the next few days

LADBROKES

£50 Free Bet!

We're just 8 days away from the start of Cheltenham 2012 and we are offering a free £5 bet for everyone on the first day of Cheltenham. Plus up to £50 worth of Free bets for every new customer.

Please note the £5 free bet offer ends on the 11th March.

As I started a thread on free bets a few weeks back, someone stated the fact that free bets might be subject to roll overs before being paid out....be careful......some do, some don't ;)

what are rollovers?

I think Harry means that you may have to turn over the stake a multiple of times before withdrawal.

I'd say most will be pretty straightforward for Cheltenham, the big bookies anyway. I would be a little wary of signing up top Bet365 via a link, they once refused my sign-up bonus due to clicking through to them via oddschecker.

I think there will be bigger offers available next Tuesday, hang fire people, patience....!

Bet365 certainly shouldn't have refused the sign up bonus for that reason, as the £200 free bets offer is promoted within the affiliate sections of the site. If anyone has any problems like that with any of the links above let me know and I'll get onto the account manager for the program.

Most the free bets I've had in the past have been pretty straightforward, example, deposit £50 get a £50 free bet. You can usually withdraw winnings from the free bet but not the stake. Its worth checking though.

What was happening on the 26th of January at 3:59pm that there were 119 users logged in? Is it something to do with traffic and revenue Dvds2000?

£75 free bet and £5 for day one

Where did you see that? The affiliate mail I got said £50 new customers and £5 for existing customers

I'm not sure what you mean by revenue, at that time there were no ads on the site whatsoever so certainly wasn't revenue.
I've no idea what caused the peak then TBH. The forum has been getting busier over the past year, partly, I'm sure, due to the fact you can now view the forum without being logged in or a member. This time last year, about 40 people online was a good day, now its regulary over 70 every day, I noticed earlier about 8pm there were 87 people online, hense needing the extra hosting this year.

To give an idea

If you look at Feb 2010 to Feb 2012 you can see how much extra traffic there was

No problem Harry, thanks very much.
Just to promote Topcashback again :) people should have a look, I know it sounds boring but everyone uses House insurance, most use car insurance, you can get £100 back just by getting those 2 items alone through it.
