Gearoid

I've got it recorded; I could try and get it online (assuming Gearoid has no objections!) but it'll be the week after next before I get the chance and as it was an hour long program it will probably be quite a big file.

I'm a bit sick about the whole thing. How the hell did the fellow that was third make it to the last 3 instead of me? A point to Bobbyjo about his mate. If he was such an outstanding cantdate, why was it a coin toss between me and him for the lastt three? I did the best interview, the programme shows that. They played safe and gave it to a banker. I sat with all six candiates and Julian had nothing to say about anything, in my opinion Ian was superior.. I was robbed and have nothing but an ill feeling for the show. I'd have murdere them in the last 3 because at the end of the day, I doubt any of thwm could price the sun rising in the morning.

In fairness Gearoid, that's a snap judgement. I know Julian for seven or eight years and he's got plenty to say when he gets to know people. The job was for a soccer sports trader and that's absolutely perfect for him because he would have more knowledge about the game than anyone.

It was a coin toss because you were clearly an outstanding candidate as well, as has been acknowledged

I take into consideration the time of your posting but, to be honest, I'm sick of this topic because other people aren't there to defend themselves! You say that you did the best interview but then again you acknowledge that the person who edited the programme was doing so favourably for you so unless you sat in with the other five, how do you know?!

Anyway, I'm not going to contribute any more to this thread

Derek Thompson, Tony Blair, Tanya Stephensom, Kieren Fallon, Frank Sinatra, George W Bush, Andrew Franklin, Louis Walsh, Andrew Thornton, Pete Doherty, Margaret Thatcher, David James, Charles Kennedy, Gavin Henson and Sir Ian Blair are among those who'd agree with you, that's for sure.

Oh - how awful that his name didn't immediately conjure him up, Colin - I'm sure he's like most of those panellists, doing it to raise his own profile. Higher, Mr Walsh, higher! :D

I've just seen the programme and I am convinced that if Gearoid had made the last three (instead of coming fourth) his experience with bar work would have seen him in good stead for the betting shop days and we on here all know that he would have come out best on the value price checking and odds compiling.

The interview "expert" was right when he said that Gearoid interviewed well - the best of the bunch and his innovative bet idea was excellent. (Even if he did have a bit of help from a mentor on that one  )

It seems unfair that he just failed to make the frame because of a Sudoku. But, in the words of Columbo, there's just one thing - did I hear Paddy Power's man say that it wasn't because he couldn't do the Sudoku, rather it was because he got frustrated with it and ceased trying that he ddidn't go through? If so they had a point - but overall there was miscarriage of justice.

:D

Yes but this one was of interest to a racing and sporting audience , unlike the others , unless of course you bet on the results of the others.

Have some of the replies disappeared? I was reading them a minute ago and now they have vanished?
