This race is often overlooked, but it's a tidy little handicap this season, and is worth a few words.

Personally, I like Chatterbox's attitude, reckon he might be leniently treated, and will be disappointed if he doesn't go close.

I'm also of the opinion that Puffin Billy is a fraud who has little to no chance of progressing further, anchored as he is by the 'Sherwood Schackle'.

thought chatterbox was meant to go chasing? is this because of hendo's bizarre rant over the lack of options for novice chasers?

i had a small amount on him for the neptune at a big price and the only thing i can really remember is he gave his hurdles far more air than i'd have liked and then wasn't fluent when the pressure was dialled up.

I disagree with Grassy re Puffin Billy and have taken 9/2. Chatterbox is too short - he might want further, he might need the run given who his trainer is and he should be chasing anyway.

Puffin Billy was running a good race in the Supreme before clouting the second last and the fact that he was up there and fighting in such a red hot race suggests he isn't a fraud to me.

Irish Saint isn't all that and the O'Neill creature who is near the head of the market must be outclassed surely.

EDIT:Chatterbox is actually 3.55 on the machine which is probably fair. I thought was was 7/4.

I thought he was poor at Aintree and maybe that's just his level. He's always been talked up by Nicholls but his form lacks substance.

If there was Sherwood hasn't mentioned it:

We expected a hot little race for the money but I'm surprised so many have dropped out, to be honest. For a race of this nature, I think eight runners is a pretty small field - it's usually double figures. They are all entitled to be there, though," said the Berkshire-based handler.

"It will be good to get him going. We've done a lot of talking about him so it will be nice to finally get him back in action. I went to Newbury to walk the track on Tuesday and I think it will be dead, tiring ground, but we won't be using that as an excuse. A good horse should be able to go on anything, so they say. He's schooled great, his jumping has really come on
