Funny how people are always either 'Egg people' or 'Miles 'n Anna' people.
Egg is the only character that struck me as being remotely real. [/b][/quote]
Good Lord Simmo. I'm speechless. We live in different worlds!
In fact Egg is the one I find least believable, he's such a rag-bag of right-on cliches
And I find him even more annoying this time around than before! -
He reminds me of everything that's a nightmare about sharing your living space with others
[it was a long tiome ago... but how I remember.... The Horror! The Horror!]

Thanks for that Ardross - I was wondering why they didn't show it last week and reckoned that they must he holding it back to show before the special. I think I'd have kicked something a little too hard if I'd missed it.

I meant to put the date of the Special in my diary but forgot - does anyone know?
I've tried googling with no success... Thanks in advance!

Got about 5/6 episodes left to watch before the special on Tues - reckon I can just about manage to fit them all in! Thanks for the info about the DVDs Gareth, it is a very good programme.

When trying to find the date and time online I googled up all kinds of sites telling in minute detail what happens in the one-off!! So had to stop in case I felt tempted to read them. I want to watch it with as little prior info as poss. You'll enjoy the last episode of series 2, SL, it's a riot :o

I'm coming all the way back to London after a night at home, just to watch TL on a decent screen! [Staying here tomorrow for the same reason, ie to watch Cheltenham... the Spanish dog is not best pleased, he'd rather be in Suffolk chasing rabbits - instead of mean Hampstead foxes in the garden].

I am ridiculously excited

On reflection, they should have left it. It was ok but not a patch on the original.

You were too young Paul . :P

I enjoyed it a lot but there was too much crammed into a " special " when there was enough material for a series. I think it isn't meant to be comedy.

One thing I would say is that although she had the original idea that I thought the series improved in series two when different writers took over from Amy Jenkins - and she was back to do this one-off

I was old enough!! It was ok and there were some good moments in it but it didn't get me the way it did the first time round.

I thought it was pretty good but bits of it were a bit over the top and too staged. Not as good as the original but worth watching.

I think that is about right - there was some bits that were excellent and others like the whole idea of a filmed reunion and Miles's absurd repossession storyline that were not so hot.

I will rephrase it - you are just about still too young now

Yeah, the plot got in the way too much. I had a bad feeling when we saw Anna in court at the start - they never actually showed them in court in the original series - but it wasn't that bad, had it's moments.

So did I especially when she called a High Court Judge Your Honour rather than My Lord

Amy Jenkins was once a lawyer but she was slipping they don't execute warrants on a Sunday night .
