Grand National

Fvck me! What a field!! If the top 40 stand their ground through the next forfeit stage we could be close to a scenario in which the bottom weight would be top weight in a normal Saturday £100k hcap.

Just looking at the race title in the RP advanced cards, it's showing the race being covered by RTV.

Has council TV lost the rights?

As for the field, 34 run, with 6 (I think) reserves allowed at the final dec stage to allow for non-runners.

I can imagine 'inducements' flying around behind the scenes where the reserves are concerned.

When I study the race I usually just look at the first 60 on the list and it's only once or twice I've had to look beyond them late in the day. I'm not sure it will go that low this year. I reckon maybe 50-55 will contain the entire field but I stil plan to check the 60.
 
Such is its quality, the modern Grand National is like a Cheltenham Gold Cup/Stayers' Hurdle Limited Handicap (if you're rated under OR 152 you might not be coming in) over fixed brush hurdles, dressed with spruce, for horses that stay 4m2f - LOVE it.

I'm fairly sure its still with ITV
 
As was only 34 runners last year Len Madeiros, my comment reflected that original entries say last year or previous if they where originally higher ie 50s plus then those scratched on run up to race moved them further nearer to the 34 runner limit for x
