Is there anywhere online that allows you to search for a list of group/grade 1 winners worldwide by year?

Not one that's exhaustive, no. You can usually piece a lot of stuff together the RP database, the Paris Turf database, Wikipedia, pedigreequery and a few other sites. Anything in particular that you're looking for?
