Hinterland was very very keen early on and the ground was much tackier than official going (several showers while I was there & a lot of horses struggled to get home all day). Didn't he bleed last time out too?

EC, you are head and shoulders above everyone on this forum for picking winners. Well done!!

Balders impressed me plenty and I reckon he'll have a live chance in the Tingle. (Obv depends which Sacre turns up!)

I see there is no price for Gods Own in the Tingle Creek betting. Has his trainer said he definitely won't line up there or something?

Best Price Balder Succes 10/1 this morning.

Gods Own still a novice so trainer said they would make use of that.

Any thoughts on Cue Card's performance? He doesn't win at 2 miles these days, and he'd had a lay off of almost a year. I'm very keen on the horse, but he didn't impress me as much as he did in last year's renewal, but I'd hope that he just needed the run. He can still be a major player this season.

Didn't jump with his usual alacrity imo, and was losing ground in the air at a number of his fences. Particularly noticeable at the 4th or 5th last, where the winner made an error but still took half-a-length off him. Hopefully, it's just a fitness thing, but I wouldn't be backing him on yesterday's performance.

Maybe they were going a little too quick for him, but, yes, his jumping wasn't great.

Is the fine summer we had affecting the fitness of horses early season so far?

I think this has to be factored in, treff. Mullins & Hendo not exactly firing on all cylinders either at the mo.
Looks like the big guns in Nicholls, Mullins and Henderson are playing the long game.......... Taking their time.
The ground in Ireland anyway is still much sounder than you'd expect at this time of year.

Nicholls admitted he was a few weeks behind as his Gallops werent built on time! I find that staggering from a top trainer.
