Just read today that Naas Racecourse hosted 120 retired stable staff and stud staff with free entry, a three course meal and tipster !
Manager Dermot Cantillon lectured me many years ago when he managed Tony Smurfit's Stud Farm.
Now of course married to Meta Osborne with son Jack harrowing what his parents families ploughed it is nice to know that Dermot has not lost the common touch.
Ger Flynn and stable staff association's Pat Curran are to be congratulated also.
Hopefully it is an idea that can be exported.
