Heard everything now.

Tbh, it's nothing new - IIRC the very first "AW" UK fixture at Southwell had to be called off, though in fairness it was because, while the track was raceable, the approach roads were all snowbound.

But many "AW" meetings since have been called off because of the effect of the weather on the racing surface.

The so-called "AW" is more weather proof than Turf, generally speaking, but it's not what it was originally meant to be.

According to the BHA, Lingfield AW has been abandoned because the track is "Too lumpy".

The Lingfield track will henceforth be known as Lingfield SW.

Some weather.
And again - time was, when they used to harrow through the night to prevent this scenariio but, once again, the AW is treated as racing's poor relation because no one cares enough.
When will the BHA realise that not all punters will bet on NH racing (moreso Irish NH) and they're losing loads of betting revenue owing to their own indolence?

I rely on the Irish racing for my returns because I find it more suited to my each way betting.
