Gone But Not Forgotten
You will only have to read this once, once the thread has been viewed then you won't be directed here again!
In an attempt to get a little income for the forum , with the aim of paying for the hosting and hopefully upgrading the forum software to the newest version of vbulletin, I'm putting a few posts up for a few bookies, along with any current offers they may have. Apologies in advance for anyone who looks on them as spam, but I think they are better than having annoying pop ps on every page and such like.
If anyone doesn't already have an account with any of the bookies, it would be appreciated if you could open an account and make at least one bet, even if its just a small one, using the links on either the forum pages or the links within these posts.
I don't make a fortune from the affiliate links, in fact in 15 years I think there has been one year when I actually made any money from the forum, which was about £15 lol. However, luckily, the forum doesn't exist to make money, its never been for that, and never will, but I do think it should really be able to cover its own cost, hense this post.
I would like to be able to upgrade to vbulletin 5 connect, which, as you can see by clicking here, is around £275. I paid for the last upgrade we had by myself, which was over £200, hopefully if a few people click the links within a month or two we could have a up to date much nicer forum for everyone to use.
The reason for doing this now is two fold.
One, vbulletin 3.8 isn't very mobile/tablet friendly. Vbulletin 5 is optimised for all this, without having to use external apps, like tapatalk etc. Upgrading the software will give you all a better experience, not just on mobile devices, but on most aspects of the forum, even from laptops & pc's.
Two, some of you might remember the forum was offline for a few days at the beginning of the year. The reason for this was that the hosting company upgraded the php version on the server, and unfortunately the software we use for the forum isn't compatible with that version of php (google vbulletin 3.8.4 php 5.4 if you would like the reasons why!).
The hosts downgraded again after a few days and quite a few emails between us, but at some point they will be forced to upgrade and stay there. At that point, the forum won't work. The choice then will beeither go back to using a free forum, or upgrade. Upgrading is by far the better option.
To give an idea of costs, upgrading the forum and paying for a years hosting will be over £400.
So, sorry for the post, but hopefully some of you can help out by clicking the links. Remember, the forum is completely free to use. This can be your way of helping the forum, and it doesn't cost you a penny, I'm sure a lot of people on here have a bet, and many won't have accounts with every bookie, so why not help up by signing up now, and taking advantage of any sign up offers available, so you get something back too.
Here are a couple of links
Bet365 - up to £200 in free bets & more.
