First big(ish) Saturday of the season at Cheltenham and guess what - the first four races were won by horses trained in Ireland. Did that cause a worried frown across the faces of the powers that be, or just another shrug of the shoulders as they turn and order another gin and tonic. How many warning shots do you need before the good ship HMS JUMPING is holed below the waterline.

Only a matter of time in my opinion. It's being left to languish, if that's the word.

So many chases have fewer than 8 runners: no value, precious little competition.

What with the public opinion on cruelty and the bookmakers, who'd be delighted to do away with time-consuming races that take over 3 minutes to run, added to the BHA and others who preside simply prepared to do nothing except hand round the begging bowl, it seems that NH's days are numbered.
