[heroes] Merged

The episode was clever with amazing twists all believable but that is like the the rest of the series. Highly original with superb effects it is addictive and is a welcome relief from the mind numbing candyfloss brain inducing dross that generally fills our screens between football and the other main sports.

As to being the best episode of any TV show ever, can't have that. Unfortunately even very good shows get tired after a while and it becomes difficult to believe that at one time one would make sure one saw every episode once a series is stale. It is obviously a matter of personal taste but there have been very many episodes of TV shows that I would put far above Heroes 20. a not comprehensive list follows.
British; Bleasdale's Boys from the Black Stuff and GBH, some Fools and Horses, a Bit of a Do, some Porridge, The Edge of Darkness, and some Shameless.

American; Early Hill Street Blues, ditto NYPD Blue, iirc IT, many of the Shield, a lot of The Wire.
I agree with the fact that most shows, however good, get tired after a while (see season 6 of 24 as a prime & recent example), however this has a long way to go before it gets there, in my opinion anyway. Remember this story is going to be wrapped up in the next couple of episodes, as season 2 is apparently going to be completely different.

I don't expect everyone to agree with me about it being the best episode of any tv show ever (by which I meant that I have seen obviously), and while I agree Only Fools And Horses had some good episodes, and some extremely funny parts within those epsiodes, I can't think of one that, for the whole 30/40 minutes didn't have a minute of padding. After this episode, there are so many questions to answer I they could probably do another full series just about that :suspect:

It sounds like a kids' programme or comic book of old. I can't believe it's any better than the stuff that we've seen during the last 30 years. Bionic Man? Bionic Woman? Superman? Wonderwoman? Bewitched? My Hero? And out to save the world, eh? Gosh, now that's really an original plotline!

Oh it's so much more than that :dork:

Have to agree about episode 20, super stuff. god knows how they can top it now !!

Was a bit slow to start and I think that turned a few people off but once you got to about episode 6 or 7 it really picked up.

Quite a few episodes on sci fi now

Just for information
23 epsiodes this season, with the 23rd being a 2 hours double epsiode.

Quite a bit to wrap in in the next 4 hours

I've started watching this now its on BBC2 and am loving it. Hiro Nakamura is the stand out character so far - 'Save the cheerleader, Save the world!'

without giving anything away, when Hiro's Dad arrives look at his car registration :)

I'm up to the ep that BBC2 showed on Wednesday.

My impressions are

a) Hiro is brilliant - he could have a show all to himself
b) They're padding it out desperately at times
c) The cod philosophical guff from the Indian guy at the start and end of every episode is embarrassing stuff
d) It's X-Men: The TV Series, surely? Not a bad thing, but it's pretty blatant at times.

I love it, been watching it on BBC2 and thoroughly enjoying it. I rarely watch TV and yet this has become unmissable for me.

I say I like it because I do. Not because it's fashionable to like it (is it?), not because other people like it but because I like it.

As ever I am very slow to catch on to these things but rented out the first half of season 1 this week and have to say I think its brilliant. Very good casting and super acting.

Season 2 starts slow, but picks up pace at about episode 6.
However due to the writers strike it looks likely to end on episode 11 rather than it being the end of the Generations arc :(

Oh and forget day 7 of 24 starting anytime soon, as its looking like it won't be shown until 2009 :(

Just watched the final episode of Season 2, the first half was ok but the second half was extremely rushed, and you could certainly tell it had been re-written.
Oh well roll on September 2008 for Volume 3 :(
