Holiday Snaps

Lets take these pictures in perspective. Brian Hartigan in his peak (a man peaks at 27, my friends) was probably quite the go-getter. Now, however he resorts to using his silky English accent to get some Ukranian (or other non-EU national) bird to take a snap with. In other words hes well past it and lliving on past glories. To put it simply any bird who would be willing to put her leg over me as in Brian's picture, better be as flexible with the other.....

I took this on my visit to Atlanta in april. Ty Cobb is the guy on the right....one of America`s greatest ever players.

More on Cobb.

During a series at the Polo Grounds in New York, Cobb is incensed by a heckler's derogatory jeer. The next day, he charges into the crowd and attacks the heckler – a crippled man with no hands named Claude Lueker. As he brutally beats the man, another spectator yells to Cobb that his victim has no hands. Cobb responds, "I don't care if he's got no feet." He is suspended indefinitely for the incident.

Also on Cobb’s resume:

In 1909, he spikes Philadelphia’s Home Run Baker on his bare hand (see photo), leading longtime A’s manager Connie Mack to call him “the dirtiest player ever.”

In 1914, he drags a bunt down the first-base line to deliberately spike Boston pitcher Dutch Leonard.

And, after a bad call in 1921, he challenges umpire Billy Evans to a fight.

Cobb wins.

Ty Cobb was a tough guy, a right little tike,
With a penchant for wrecking a guy with his spike.
No player, no cripple, no undersized dude
Could get away with a call that was rude.

As Mack, and Leonard, and 'Dutch' would attest
The guy was a psycho in a Yankees vest,
Ty pulled every lousy trick known in a stunt,
Which earned him his moniker - "Cobb the Bunt". ;)
