What would you do and try avoid thinking with any antepost already up

There will be a talk about sending her chasing and a decision to be made

Henry doesnt give too much away but get the impression he'd like to send her fencing and said she jumps fences every Sunday at home.

Someone some day will try emulate Dawn Run

She would be 8 as a novice chaser so time not exactly on their side

You could win at least one more CH and plenty of prize money over the season or do you take the big chance and go chasing

I think you have to bear in mind the competition. IMHO we have just seen one of the finest gold cups of recent years. Add to that at least one... maybe two of the most exciting novice chasers in years . I think they would be mad to be honest.

personally think she's nailed on to try and double up the champion hurdle but if they did a novice campaign might be a waste of a year while she's at her peak, could do a thistlecrack and put her in some novice races to see how she gets on over fences but with the the gold cup in mind

Add in the fact that the Gold Cup 1-2 are already in the yard, plus the 2 mile Champion Chaser.
Funnily enough this thought crossed my mind this morning.
Given the time Henry spent trying to make a Gold Cup horse of Sizing Europe especially after his Champion Hurdle saga I am sure he wants to keep his life as uncomplicated as Rachel keeps her race riding.

P.S. there is also Envoi Allen to consider.

P.P.S. just thinking Jessie H would have been the ideal stable for Cheveley Park horses but for the fact that Kate and Gordon were/are an item (delete as appropriate)

Don't see the point in going chasing. The champion Hurdle division is worse next year.

You get 2 chances with a horse to win a gold cup realistically.

Next year will be year 2 for both Henry's

With 3 novice races, the cream of novice horses can avoid each other

They could try, will be owners decision. If she were 6 going 7, I'd say they certainly would

You would imagine that they'll keep her hurdling. The 2m hurdling division is a lot weeker than the staying chasers already, and apart from some of the juveniles, the best novices all seem set to go chasing so it isn't going to get stronger.

She's 5/2 for the Champion Hurdle. There isn't even a decesion to be made.

She was 16/1 for the champion and 2/1 for the mares up until January if you are just basing targets on odds

5/2 isn't awful by the way

Odds are just a reference. The point is going chasing would be reckless.

This forum is an example of how popular a race the Champion Hurdle is..between Honeysuck Goshen and Epatante the discussion hardly ever stopped and it would give the Gold Cup a run for its money any day of the week unfortunately that is not reflected in prize money. It doesnt go unoticed and people start gettihg crazy ideas like if Dawn Run can do it we can do...
So I agree with Slim its reckless and stupid...all she has to do is stay sound and she could be the next triple winner..the opposition is thin on the ground...throwing that away to take on horses lije Monkfish and Evoi Allen is as crazy as it gets
