Just spent a night at the Holiday Inn Dunstall Park Wolverhampton.
Horrid place, staff rude and food very ordinary.
Dirty and looked like it needed a massive facelift.
Gross!!!!!!

That sounds like the Ritz up against the Fox Hotel in the centre of Wolverhampton where the members of the Final Furlong syndicate stayed (should I say survived?) once after a night out at Monmore.

What did you expect ?????!!! shrug::

The International Youth Hostelling Hostel in Menton. We got threatened with CS Gas by the owner for breaking the curfew!

Also, the Hotel Formula One in Dunkirk although it did have a comedy aspect to it.

The Lamb in Ely. Overheated rooms, ants on toast for breakfast, sticky tables  , running out of beans for the fried breakfast, booking our 4 night stay as 3 nights and one night and totally messing up the booking.

The Royal Hotel in Bognor Regis "we put the 'bog' in Bognor". Used to stay there for Glorious Goodwood but owner got greedy and kept putting the prices up. You could buy a round of drinks at 8pm for a tenner, same round would cost you 50% more when you were pissed up at 2am. Great memories of Dave Nevison in the disco surrounded by 'ropey old Tote birds' (not my description).

Hotel Kiev in Bratislava. A huge Soviet-style concrete block of a hotel with all room temperatures centrally controlled from reception.

Only upside was the topless bar in the basement.

Green Man in Malton was pretty shiite
Absolutely right UG.

Food horrible, esp the amazingly greasy breakfast, and the fish cooked to carboard.
Staff totally untrained - not their fault, but it you are relying on summer vac students, at least give them some idea how to do the job!
Bedrooms not very clean, and stiflingly hot due to all the heavy fire doors - you couldn't get any air through.
Bathroom cubicles so small you kept banging your elbows...

It's well situated but apart from that has v little to recommend it - a shame as it could be lovely in the right management
