I wasn't assuming anyone, native or non-native, breaking any laws of this country, clivex. Clearly, if Hindus wish to burn the live widows of departed Hindu husbands, they would be breaking this country's laws, even if upholding an ancient (and outlawed) religious tenet. While I made the points largely for the sake of discussion, and assumed that readers would accept that they would be in keeping with British law, Hindu inheritance laws, while they differ from ours (as do Muslim and quite possibly Jewish, Sikh and Buddhist), are not illegal.
It's a bit rich to get rather high-handed about foreigners breaking the law in this country, when thousands of Brits go out of the country to puke all over Spanish islands' streets, eff and blind at their police, rut randomly with anything on two legs and frequently expect the State to fund any produce, and pick nasty fights with opposing football teams in THEIR countries. Boy, talk about pots and kettles!
