Since I have picked up the task of being the admin here, I have taken on the burden of being the moderator of the forum as well. And in doing so it seems that there haven't been any policies posted to provide the members here on what can constitute a "ban" or "suspension" here in the forum. So please let me take this opportunity to flesh some of this out.

To begin with, please familiarise yourself with the forum rules. They can be found here:
Forum Rules

The easiest way to get banned is by posting spam. Most of you never see the spam posted on this forum since I can catch it (in most cases) before it goes live. Spammers are reported to third party spam databases and this is stated in our rules.

Repeated flaming: We are all adults here (I'm extrapolating :p), and I get it - sometimes discussions can get heated especially with postings that can be deemed passive aggressive, etc. - but regardless, it should never stoop to name calling. This is usually met with a warning from me - and only in cases of extreme flaming (calling women the dreaded "c" word) or anything racist, or homophobic, that can cause for banishments or suspensions. When I ran CM, I looked at it as a "three strikes yer out" sort of thing - and so far in the past several years here, this has rarely happened..

Threatening or abusive behaviour: this should speak for itself, but there are people who use the anonymity of the Internet to attack others. Again, this is a rare event here, but this should be made clear that this sort of behaviour won't be tolerated.

Being a PITA: these are the folks who take pleasure in being annoying. They are usually conscious of this fact even after being reminded. Again - this is easy to be avoided. If you're being a PITA, you will be reminded and counselled on this.

Okay how about how NOT to get banned. :D

You won't get banned for disagreeing with me, or with any moderator You won't get banned for voicing a complaint about Talking Horses or how I do things. But when being critical, a little bit of respect and decorum can go a long way. You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.

Freedom of expression is essential to a well functioning forum - one that is powerful, informative, and enjoyable. Agreeing to disagree can go a long way IMO. The only time you will find your freedom of expression limited here is when you go into attack mode. So just be cool.

I have an open door policy here is well. You don't like the way things are going or what I'm doing, PM me. I'm pretty much easy-going and I'm open to suggestions. And for those who find themselves suspended or banned, sometimes all it takes is an apology to get back in.

So that is about it. I feel that most of us are all on the same sheet of music, and I am grateful for that.
