I signed up for this today at the Freshers Fair (went along to sign up for more sports than i currently do), it's the first year of my uni (Sheffield Hallam) doing this sport so am hoping to take part.

I watch it on TV but the rules are confusing so i have been wondering lately why i have signed up for it?

I think the basic concept is to whack the white ball with a stick, it looks to me like Gaelic Football, however the ball is smaller and you have a stick.

I've never played, but it looks exceptionally difficult to take up at an advanced age. I think you need to start playing when you're about three. I entered a Puc Fada competition once in my youth and didn't manage to register a score.

God's game Martin. You'll love it. It was once the only sport in world where a catholic could wave a stick at a protestant and not get lynched.
