I Need A Couple Of Words!

Trudij, re chocolate and raspberries, sounds way too tempting to be good for me.
I only started this diet thing yesterday, and studying fat content and calories is a foreign language to someone who used to happily throw things into the shopping trolley without a care in the world.
Any dietary tips not involving chocolate, midget gems and crisps would be welcome.

Nice try irish stamp but I'll give that one a miss I think. :D
I bought some special k today its supposed to help you drop a jean size, other half has a theory about how.

Simmo, that is the simplest and most helpfull advice, but I actually dont eat a lot just the wrong things another problem is not having proper meal times.

Serena, did you watch Paul McKenna's series called 'I Can Make You Thin'? He's got a book-and-CD combo out, and his philosophy about 'dieting' is simple - DON'T! There were some enormous tubs of lard in his audience, people of 23, 25, 30 st. After a few weeks, they were losing 'size' very consistently and feeling great, with no mad cravings, no binge eating, no comfort eating, etc. If you didn't see it, and would like me to put up the key points of his system, which are really lessons in re-training us all in the lost art of good eating habits, I'll do so, if you wish. They make total sense, and you don't need to buy any special foods, join a gym, or buy equipmet, or count a thing!

Krizon, that would be great thank you.
I dont want to lose a huge lot of weight perhaps a stone, I gave up smoking and have piled on more than I was ever used to and just dont feel right.

Tell you what, Serena, I'll PM you - this forum will only start mickey-taking your endeavours (oh, yes, you will! - you know what you're like!) and you need to keep your resolve until those pesky pounds disappear! :)

I have lost a stone in weight since Christmas and feel loads better for it. I am under 15 stone now and very happy.

This could be great we can all encourage each other, and post up any tips etc that are working out and worth passing on. there are some good points in krisons post a big thank you to her for taking the time to type it out.

My genuine tips are as follows.

1) Eat a sensible and healthy breakfast (this does NOT include McDonalds)

2) Snack on fruit during the day, instead of biscuits

3) Lunch for me is wholemeal sandwiches with either cheese or ham

4) Eat a good evening meal with at least 2 vegetables and as little processed food as possible.

Combine this with regular exercise - cricket in my case - and the weight comes off pretty easily.

I am sure this is like teaching people to suck eggs but it is amazing how well it works.

Good luck all you dieters out there.

I need to lose another 4lbs to reach my target of 14 stone 8.
