What exactly were you searching for to find this article? - i am making a huge assumption that New Scientist isn't your usual subscription.
 
Ladies, even if you don't want children you can still slap the stuff on like sun cream and you'll be grand. Just the same as putting a tiger in your tank.

Actually, Martin, I quite like New Scientist & I do read it on occasion.....I like my sciences, I'm one of those exceptionally boring people who has A Levels in both Biology & Chemistry...... :lol:

Wouldn't worry Sol, i managed to get a DD in Science at GCSE when 16 and then a D in Biology when 17, think i'll stick to my degree n general knowledge.

Er, excuse me, chaps and chapesses - weren't some on here recently waxing concerned about the psychological welfare of teenies who might be peeking in? I seem to recall nanny rushing in to stop potential character-deforming vulgarity... <_<
