International Meeting - Cheltenham

He didn't seem to have his interest rekindled around the Punchestown banks in November.

But that said he'd run deplorably on his only three previous visits to the course so maybe he just doesn't like the place.

Good little race this for it's type and while Any Currency looks something of a good thing on LTO form, Josies Orders had a nightmare of a run and still got up to win and is young enough to show the necessary improvement. Sire Collonges has bits of form that put him ahead of the favorite and Uncle Junior was looking to run a big race before slipping up here last month.

At yesterday's prices Josies Orders represented a bit of value IMHO but with that horse having since been price-wised the value would now appear to lie with Any Currency given that he looks likely to touch a minimum of 3/1.

Clearly Grass and the market were obviously forewarned given that he was allowed to go off as big as 13/8 in a paltry 16 runner race with such dross as Quantitativeeasing in it ;)

Surprising really, as WPM is usually always one to keep punters wise about when a horse is in good-order and ready to win its race.

Daryll Jacob will be on Peace & Co Tantlic. He rides all of the Munir/Souede horses.

MTOY is bound for the Ryanair at Leopardstown by all accounts. Worked very well this morning after returning fat as a fool from his long break.

I see NJH has decided to run Hargam on soft ground??? Must be desperate to get a run into him as he said he wouldn't run him on soft.

What's really odd is both Kingy and Fergy have decided to give the 30k novice the elbow and take each other on for 20k which is nuts...guess they don't talk to each other much:)

Whats worse is if the betting is anything to go buy neither of them will win DUH!!

I had a great start to the day. 4 consecutive winning days a big bet on Minella Rocco who decided to try walking through a fence to see if it was easier than jumping it.

Then things got worse. 2 1/2 days profit down the drain........but ya gotta luv Cheltenham......greatest meeting in the world to lose your money at

I had a bad day too and you know you're in trouble when you're relying on Buywise to get it back for you

Mrs DG, who, like me, never bets, was chatting with Lady Oaksey at the IJF stall this morning who told her Aachen would win.

Pleased to say she broke the habit of a lifetime :<3:

One of my old cliff horses, Mozoltov, has been entered in the Caspian Caviar Gold Cup by WPM - which obviously caught my eye. He's as likely to capsize as he is to complete, but anyone know if he is an intended runner (has been left in at latest forfeit stage, by the look of things).

Ruby talking about him

It’s hard to win a race as competitive as this off a long lay-off, and that’s part of the task facing him as his last run was at the Punchestown Festival in 2014.A mark of 148 might be something he can win off, but his relative lack of experience and match practice will likely count against him.
He will be a decent each-way price, but I just worry about him being battle-hardened enough.

Gutted when M Rocco was pulled up...surely today Peace and Co will prove he's up to winning a champion hurdle. everything crossed!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why are Paddy Power offering 6/1 on Peace and Co for new customers? Is that fishy? I don't like it when online bookies offer silly odds like that, but it might be a good sign that a horse won't be winning that day. I see Betfair were offering Silvi Conti at 6/1 for new customers the night before their own race a few weeks ago.

I personally don't read too much into it
Coral offered 5/1 on Quevega to new customers a couple of years back!

means nothing more than they are looking for new customers......Easiest way to attract business is to offer long odds on a hotpot with a limit of say 20 quid.

No different than taking up an offer of a free 100 pound bet they couldn't give a rat ass which horse they put up as long as they get customers.

They will have studied it and know that the odds say even if the horse wins at the end of the day they win as the biggest majority of punters lose

Not sure Rebecca Curtis' horses are right yet despite reports of clear blood tests earlier in the week. The Romford Pele was in the process of running a stinker yesterday

I'll have a few pennies on Champagne West, if only for the reason that I'd kick myself if he came in and if had nowt on but Dickie not taking the ride(assuming he had the choice)is a worry.
