Irish Racing switching to RacingUK

All the comment pieces I have read so far, no one has come out in favour of the move

In an age where you can get an alternative view on everything I haven't seen one person in support if it.Who are the snakes in the grass that stabbed Irish racing in the back.

Must be just about the money for racecourses - plus ca change .

I suppose RUK's Sunday coverage is generally covering dire meetings so they will have the benefit of the Irish racing .

I should have thought something will need to be done about the Galway/Goodwood clash .

That is a disgracefully disingenuous piece of work.

'There are no plans to increase' subscriptions = watch this space.

To price up atr as the minimum cost of getting the entertainment package is to ascribe the cost of over 70 channels all to atr. All of Sky Sports is available to non-Sky customers for £3pm more than the RUK subscription.

How can we know that this is beneficial for Irish racing until costs and benefits are revealed.

If RUK is innovative and introduces more flexible packages like cheaper day passes and/or weekend packages, it may work but I have a deep distrust of RUK and I'm not holding my breath.

Great to hear Ruby's opinion on the subject as an alternative to all the people who aren't on the RUK payroll and have the good of Irish racing as their priority.

Add to that the opinion of Brian Kavanagh at HRI. Of course, he was involved in agreeing to the media deal two years ago and not protecting Irish racing's ability to influence SIS; that could have been a disastrous oversight - pleased it's turned out so well!

I am also assuming SIS will demand that HRA and HRI get their act together regarding starting times; that way we might avoid the Dublin Chase not starting just 5 minutes before the Contenders hurdle next year (to list just one example) ...oh..and don't me started on 3 mile+ races starting 5 minutes before top races. Enjoy sitting in front of the tv watching Racing UK with one eye and Racing UK Xtra on your laptop or phone with the other; not sure that's much better than a split screen.

At The Races will become Sky Sports Racing early next year. Will be in HD

Hoping to get back Ascot and Chester when their current contract with RUK expires next February

I’m surprised they’re willing to put it under the Sky umbrella at this stage. Sky sells itself as having rights to the premium events of the sports it invests in(F1, Premier League, NFL, England test matches, golf majors etc).

Right now Sky Sports Racing will have substandard horse racing and the dogs.
