Irish Sunday Racing Thread

Quality thread this with lots of scipe in it
Couldve got 3s the Tyner horse in the first race, as well as Slims lovely pick.

There was another winner on the card I should have added, but my book was a tick under it all day. Not to worry, it’s a long winter. By March you won’t even care about the festival.

What Festival?

Completely agree and, in my view, saying "could be a Cheltenham horse" before or after any race ought to carry a mandatory custodial sentence. #justice

I keep coming back to that 1,641-word article in the Racing Post by a so-called professional punter on the Arkle. 9/2 about a horse he makes 11/4. It’s so utterly devoid of any professional punting nous it actually stunned me. There were loads of movers today, loads of nuanced bets, loads of horses priced on last year’s form and not the situation. These cards are proper betting. The idea that the best use of your time is worrying about Chektenham will die this season.

The home straight on the hurdle track had been watered during the summer for flat racing. Hence many horses did not finish their races as well they should have, so don't be too disappointed with the likes of Murat or Torpille Dagrostis in the Bumper not seeing out their races.

Excellent, Slim

Spillane's is out of the Betfair Chase.

I'd like to see this horse in a handicap chase this season, especially if the handicapper drops him a bit in the weights. I think it could be his best chance of actually winning a race.

Connections need to think outside of the box, something they are more than capable of. The horse is hit and miss and is now best off in a 3 mile handicap chase.
How far Grey Dawning now.

An absolutely rancid race the Betfair. Even if the million quid for doing all 3 was up again, i doubt any of the Mullins lot would be over for it.

3m chasers in Britain are awful.

I’ve only just seen this.,Annoying that I had Irish Panther as a possible bet but because I collected on Twig at Sandown decided to call it a day.

Thanks for that. I love the horse but I'm running out of excuses. That was a rancid run, fitness worries or not.
His jumping was well sketchy. A little late headway, for sure but would never be backing him on that jumping display.

An Irish trainer of note once told me that 'a wind op might get you 3 or 4 pounds first time out and after that most of them are not worth a phuck.'

I know nothing about horses, just passing on a quote.

Tell Henry we all said hello.

I know it's not Sunday but the Fortria looks a tidy heat and I want to oppose the QM winner carrying a penalty. Dinoblue maybe?
