Irish Sunday Racing Thread

The Grade 3 at 12.50 - the price differential between Predators Gold and Pure Steel is too wide. The latter is a bet at 4s.
I want to watch this cos although I don't like Kappa Jy Pyke on my ratings, it ran in the Cheltenham Baring Bingham Novice Hurdle Stakes 2m 5f Grade1 in March, and historically runners in 1250 Punchestown Novice Chase (Grade 3) 5yo+ that ran in the last renewal of the Baring Bingham have won or placed 6 out 8 times (75%)

Ha! Even a stopped clock...

I could do what I used to do when Barney Curley was around - and literally never bet in any race he ever has a runner in - but Curley didn't have that many runners.

So I just accept it's an imponderable, it's my choice to bet in the race or swerve it altogether, and if I bet I go into it with my eyes open.

I get your sentiment but it's really not the point. No one should be allowed to corrupt racing at such an industrial level. That was a Grade 3 and he's made a mockery of it.

A lot of racing is bent, which is why seasoned punters never take anything at face value.

That’s why the insight on this forum is so instructive, particularly when trainers target certain races. Although, did anyone know that NJH targets the Lanzarote? A horse of that class - that seemed to have gone at the game - goes off at 22/1, with NJH only operating at a 10% strike rate? His only horse in the race too.

The clues weren’t exactly obvious, but we “suspect” that NJH and McManus knew the score.

We can only hope that we don’t forget this piece of skullduggery, and use it to our advantage another time.

You'll go skint trying to work out that outfit. Some days they are cheating so much they don't know themselves.
