A couple of photos from our recent trip to Ireland, incl. Ascot and - well guess which ractrack that is.

All photos by Landlark, taken in extremely difficult (mean: irish!) weather!!

Every trip to Ireland starts visiting old Ela Mana Mou, who although his eyes were still bright, does now really start to show his age. He is very well looked after and Michael Flynn and his lad are clearly very devoted:

Next day and a very different horse: Landlark and I posing proudly with Manduro, at Kildangan Stud:

Khyelef happend to come past as well:

and Teofilo looked like the prizefighter he was in his box:

the one sightseeing we did as well: ClonMacnoise, note the flooded land in the background !

Woodlands Stud was hard to find, and very functional, with still a lot of improvements being carried out; its home to Germany (now 17!), Rober Emmet (a son of Sadlers Wells out off Eva Luna), Court Masterpiece and Foreign Affairs, shown in this order:

off to Coolmore next day, and some rare hours with no rain! This is favourite Peintre Celebré, who seems to struggle for support, as our guy offered his season at a bargain price (we still had to decline as it wasn´t in our budget):

Excellent Art:

Footstepsinthesand refuses to pose proper:

The one and only Dylan Thomas looked impressive, but somehow very exhausted, one could say tired:

Hurricane Run is a very typical son of Montjeu, and not really much to look at:

This is Hawk Wing ;))

Montjeu himself:

FINISHED !!!!

Some great pics there. Good to see Manduro up and about and Teofilo looking well.

Oratorio looks great - better than RoG anyway.

The shots of two Arc winners, Dylan Thomas and Hurricane Run, next to each other are fascinating.

Grand piccies but you mean Hi Cloy not Central House don't ya!
arrrrrrghghghrhghghgh

Meant Hi Cloy for sure and Jimmy even backed him *blush*

Sorry for that!

Beautiful photos, i do love Hedgehunter must admit.....thank you for sharing them :)

Fantastic stuff...going to move this to the main section for a bit in case others miss them.

Any more of the stud trips crazyhorse?

Oratario looks magnificent. I really look forward to seeing his crop on the racetrack. Old sparring partners Teofilo and Holy Roman Emperor looked really well in themselves. Teofilo looks a beauty while Holy Roman Emperor looks incredibly strong.

Interesting to hear you say how well Aussie Rules has done…..never the most impressive horse but he has a really good pedigree from a wonderful family. Dylan Thomas looks half asleep….be interesting to see how he looks in a years time. He looks a very gross horse that will put on condition very easily so he will have to be kept active.

Any of my name sake?

Nice of you to include a picture of Monjeu without Sinndar disappearing over the horizon in front of him.

Well Done. Thurles racecourse is opulant, isn't it?

What fantastic photographs!

Ela is now 32, what an age! Kheleyf is a bonny looking horse.

Dylan Thomas is a very well-made individual, but Footstepsinthesand is terribly light-boned. Excellent Art seems to have done something to his near-fore foot.
