Is Harriet Harperson???

I would say from recent experiences that the health service has improved a lot in recent times, but obviously that is just me...

As for the Islamic issue, many on the far left (Claire Short and ken livingstone spring to mind)have strongly promoted anti semitic and staggeringly bigoted islamic leaders and its hard to imagine a more guaranteed vote loser amongst other communities. The leading far left columist (seamus milne) even recently went so far as to throw heavy support behind the Iranian leadership which perhaps even topped his gloating over 9/11 for stomach churning disgust

My point about the far left now is that they are only defined by what they hate and not what they have to offer.

and although not many would define themslevs as working class, this brings us back to Harperson. There is a huge constituency of british voters struggling against a dead job market, suppressed wages and no prospects. They are turning to the BNP or not voting at all because quite frankly, they are not in the slightest bit interested in womens quotas on boards and pointless surveys on womens pay. When there are no jobs at all over £6 an hour they ahve every right to feel resentment that idiots like her think that that is top of labour's agenda. She is treating them with complete contempt by concentrating on side issues.

She has long been regarded as being a bit thick and heres to proof positive but Brown has been absolutely stupid in allowing her a free reign with her agenda (as the ever impressive Mandelson well knows...)

Women bosses are frequently far better than male counterparts in my experience, but is that really the biggest current concern?

Being clueless and not very bright (ok...thick then) she thinks that her message of constant discrimination and blaming "MEN" for everything is just want the voters want at this present time...

Now shes demanding that the leadership of the labour party must always include one woman.

I defended her earlier on the thread but this really is a load of tosh. I'm beginning to think maybe she is losing the plot.

And now this montrous liability to Labour is at it again...

Demanding quotas for women on boards of public (only public? im not sure) companies

What the fck is she on about?

She suggests in her sweeping no nothing way that women are more "risk adverse". Ive worked closely with female directors on a PLC and that is complete garbage but regardless of that the key point is that you judge the PERSON not the gender or colour.

and think what a nightmare this would be to implement. The business i worked in was PR which is quite female dominated (as is rag trade for instance). So whats she going to do about ultra macho Construction then?

Quite incredible that in these difficult economic times labour is wasting time on absolutely pointless counter prodcutive legislation which is welcomed by virtually no one

What sort of message is that sending to voters?
