Ryan Moore rides him.

Cracking race this is, surely Excelebration is the one to beat despite the quantity of opposition?

I fear most of the people knows whats happens when Excelebration runs in a field without Frankel

A bunch of fillies and mares should not be a problem for this very good miler

paddy power opening prices

Excelebration 2/1
Moonlight Cloud 5/2
Elusive Kate 13/2
Golden Lilac 10/1
Fallen For You 10/1
Cityscape 12/1
Most Improved 12/1
Immortal Verse 16/1
Tin Horse 33/1
Caspar Netscher 33/1
Indomito 40/1
cityscape very good e/w value imo

Surprised at the discrepancy in price between the Gosden horses.

Buick's picked Fallen for you and they've always maintained she is their best 3yo filly yet EK is much shorter. Her and Immortal verse look good place bets. I'll be disappointed if Excelebration doesn't win this but I am slightly concerned about his last run and whether or not Frankel has broken him....

With a bigger field and a faster pace I think Golden Lilac has a chance of reversing places with Elusive Kate. It's a race with a good punting shape because Moonlight Cloud is a crazy mental price. She's never won over a mile and there are a few who should be shorter in the market than her.

Looks like the mile race of the year so far (even without Frankel). Great ew value for any fans of IV, MI, even Tin Horse and Casper.
A little on whatever you fancy, what racing is all about.

I'd have to agree - this is the dodge Frankel party :)

Agree completely.
For mine, GL was ridden that day as if tomorrow's prize was more important - as it probably is, in the greater scheme of French racing.

this race and one or two future 10f races show why any criticism of how Frankel has been campaigned is unfair really

Frankel is criticised for only beating E..thats because others run scared..he then steps up to 10..and what happens..10f horses run scared..excuses galore coming

it will then be..well he won at 10..but he had no oppo..the real problem here is other trainers..not Cecil

we are unlikely to see another horse like Frankel but the only way to see what he is really capable of is having a horse within a couple of lbs to push him...this can't happen due to the nature of the game unless you get a year like 1971

we wait years for really good horses..but when an exceptional one comes along they end up with no oppo simply because they can't win

Good post Ec1. Personally I think he's a bit vulnerable at 10f but only if he was up against a proper Grp1 horse.

More you look at this, the more depth there is.

Missed the 33s but Tin Horse still looks big at 25. Will be pressed to win but can see him running a race and sneaking a place. He needs a mile over fast ground and they've pissed around with him a bit since his Poulains win over longer trips and on soft ground but he bounced back in a very quick time in a Group 3 at Maisons Laffitte (ground was definitely quick side of good, official descriptions in France are a farce).

Despite the good field, Excelebration should have too much toe for these, and the booking of Ryan Moore can only be a bonus.

I'm with Aragorn on Excelebration. I feel Frankel has broken him, and despite my enthusiasm for him at the start of the season I'm not on him today. He has had a good break since his last run and he'll have needed it. As a rule of thumb I'd always have thought you'd want to back an Aidan O Brien group one horse like Excelebration at 5/2 if he was coming into the race in good form with no question marks. The fact he's been off for nearly two months and lost a few more lengths on the great one means to me he's beatable today. I could be completely fecking wrong, but I won't mind that.

Most Improved for me. He beat Group One colts carrying levels last time, and get the weight concessions here. If he can't go close today Meehan will be surely be dissapointed and rightly so. I don't think this horse should go off any bigger than 6/1, I feel thats a fairer indication of his chance. I would love it if Fallon could get him up. He deserves a really good one to sit on, especially with how he's come back from the controversies and shown his professionalism and hunger for the sport is still the same. Often seemingly forgotten just how good he was in hay day, hopefully he can show one and all he still has it today. A showman jockey and fantastic talker alas Dettori he's never been, a damn good jockey he has though.

That same professionalism which has meant he's been late to more meetings than any other jockey, usually coinciding with certain testers being present at said meetings.
