Jason Maguire will miss the Cheltenham Festival after he suffered a fractured sternum and bleeding on his liver in a fall.

He came off Scots Gaelic in the 4:10.

I was at Stratford today nasty falls McKee was knocked out for five minutes but did come round, and was taken to hospital by ambulance. Maguire went in air ambulance Sam Jones also fell but he was up and walking.

Too bad about about Maguire missing Cheltenham, he's had his share of bad knocks over the years.

After a few worrying hours, Jason Maguire has had a successful operation on his liver. He remains sedated overnight and is to be reassessed this morning.

Spoke to Niall Hannity who is staying with Jason this week - by all accounts, Jason is very lucky to be alive. Scary stuff.
