Job Interviews

I worked as a bookie's boardmarker when I was a student. One dear old punter edged up to me one day and told me I was really good at it, that I should stick at it and maybe some day I might make it as a boardmarker. I was genuinely touched. He really meant to be kind.

One day the manager asked me to work behind the counter. When my till worked out to the halfpenny he expressed surprised and said it was the first time anyone's till had worked out accurately on their first day. I told him I could do his job just as easily. Next day I was back marking the board!
