Josh Gifford

It is indeed. I have little doubt that my dad met him at the gates and dragged him into the nearest pub to talk Findon cricket club and the racing...

RIP Josh, thankyou

Sad news. Came to our Grand National preview last year when Bob Champion couldn't make it. Signed the Aldaniti page in my 'A Race Apart' book. Lovely to meet him and hear him speak. RIP.

He seemed a great bloke. He came came up and congratulated us when Taufan Boy hammered the Nicholls odds-on shot at Ascot, despite not knowing us.

Who will ever forget the fantastic Schweppes trophy touches as a jock with Cap Ryan and as a trainer

Not me Roddy

1963. Rosyth Won
1964. Rosyth Won
1965. Rosth 2nd to Elan
1966. LeVermontios Won
1667 Hill House Won
1968. Major Rose 2nd to Persian War

Brilliant partnership and Josh was a brilliant judge of pace and rode them to sleep in 67 winning the race by a very long looking 12 lengths and landing a monster gamble.

As tough as nails but everybody loved the guy R.I.P
