Kentucky Derby Winner tests positive

I was on the 3rd and 4th last week, an absolute pisser for the backers of the 2nd Mandaloun though

Either Bobs lying or someone's out to get him

I had €80 e/w at 25/1 the second and it was the only horse that could have beaten me that would have annoyed me. A 1k horse finding so much improvement. Sure Bob.

30th time he has been nicked for banned substances. One suspects a pattern.

Have no idea how he is still training. Of course, he is innocent you know because he says so. It’ll be another case where the chemicals from a pain patch on the stablehand’s arm managed to transfer themselves to the horse during grooming. Even with your skills you couldn’t concoct better :)

I said to a friend who prices US racing for one of thhe big firms that the connections of the second will be devastated. His repy was they'll be relieved that their horse wasn't tested...

He’s not going to get away with it again, is he? Managed to dredge up some skin ointment that may have done it and the poor old horse had dermatitis on its rear end so got plastered with it (apparently).

If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed.....Hitler was right...Tell it 29 times and they still believe you, Hey ho!

The thing is you as a trainer should be checking these medications that are used and not using them anywhere near race time as sometimes the withdrawal period differs according to the horse. I suffer from eczema but I never used my corti-costeroidal cream anywhere near a horse that was due to run (I would handle the horse with gloves if absolutely necessary). And I used to ask the vet very carefully if I could use something topical on a horse. All Baffert had to do was Google the active ingredients if he was unsure and look up withdrawal period. But he’s either too arrogant or too stupid. Or it wasn’t from a cream at all.....
Actually if the horse had an unpleasant skin condition that required quite as much treatment as to record a positive result, I am wondering if it really was in as good a condition as he clearly was....remember Nijinsky? He had a bad bout of ringworm and it knocked him for six.

As ramblings go it is far less rambling than Mr Baffert's ramblings.
Bob Baffert always reminds me of John Denver (on lasix, the way he p''ses on regulations )
The story goes John Denver once came across a John Denver lookalike/ singalike contest, met the judges, was given an entry number, took the stage , sang, "Leaving on a jet plane " and finished second.
Bob prefers to win.

Just to say; there are 1,000,000,000,000 picogrammes in a gram.
21 picogrammes will not make a Champion out of an also ran.

When I was studying veterinary nanograms were the order of the day; picotechnology was yet to be invented.
Trinity Laboratories' Dr Lambert told us at that time that they stopped testing greyhound urine/blood as their machinery had to be re calibrated after every test; the samples positivity could be tasted rather than put through the machinery !

U S Triple Crown winners are like buses, three in 1970s, four in 1940s, three in 1930s .

Big bad Bob suspended from having runners at the 3 big Noo Yoik tracks

Only going one way from here you would think

Like being banned at Leopardstown, Punchestown and Fairyhouse but grand for Naas. What a mess the sport is in over there.
