Kicking King

I'm a big fan of the horse don't get me wrong but the renewal he won was very poor imo (course specialist Beef or Salmon was favourite on the morning of the race after all). He won authoritavely enough that day but i'm still not sure such an extreme trip shows him off to his best. imo of course.

IMO, his first King George was the most exciting 3m performance by a chaser not called Kauto Star in the last 10 years.

i'd subscribe to that viewpoint. even a drunk Santy didnt halt him that day

Cashmans bet 1/3 Nickname 9/2 Kicking King 6s Newmill.Apparently Cashmans are paying the price for their miserable books and infamous others on request quotes-they are on the verge of selling the business. At one time their Cheltenham prices were legendary but they are completely spooked by betfair.

According to the Irish Times Nickname is a possible runner in the Hennessy Gold cup-would be my bet of the season if he runs.

Explain Luke? What price would you make him for the race?

Very hard to price it up at the moment (due to uncertainty over what will line up)but if The Listener runs I would expect him to be fairly short.I think the perception of Nickname being a 2 miler will mean a relatively generous price.
In my opinion he is a machine given his ground-I have won decent money on him in the past and he has a good wins/runs ratio.

I'd put him in a similar position as Imperial Call going into the race. There was no particular reason to believe he would stay, but if he did he was going to be very good.
