King George Boxing/St Stephen's Day 2017

Going @kemptonparkrace for the Winter Festival 26-27 December is Good to Soft Soft in places. GoingStick; C: 6.6 H: 5.9 on Monday at 14:30.

Disko looking likely to represent Giggi in the King George, with Road To Respect being held back for the old Lexus.

Should make PJ happy.

If that going stick reading is correct think it's going to be a bit of a boring race.

Like a Might Bite schooling session.

Is it declaration day for the KG today?

I'm guessing the following are confirmed:

The Biter
Whisper
Disko
Bristol De Mai
Top Notch (just in case)
Tea For Two
Thistlecrack
Fox Norton
God's Own
Ar Mad

First three named are your Christmas Trichast.

That's yer lot.

Can see Fox Norton doing a 'Sizing John' and winning everything now above 2 miles.
Just to **** me off, cause I don't rate the horse.

Thanks for that Grass. Just to put it into perspective, last year (when Mite Bite was on his way to putting up that performance before Jacob’s rush of blood) the going stick reading for the chase course was 7.1. I’d imagine the with a full week of dry weather forecast ahead we’ll be somewhere very near that again this year at the running of the KG.

In contrast to show you what Bristol de Mai revels in, the going stick readings from his last 2 wins were 5.2 at Wetherby and 4.4 at Haydock for the Betfair Chase. I reckon by the time the latter race was run conditions had deteriorated again as that was an early morning reading and there was rain after.

The last few times he raced with a going stick reading above 5.5 he was beaten 24L & 20L at Aintree & Cheltenham respectively.

I think the world of Might Bite - what he did to that field in the RSA before losing concentration was quite extraordinary . If he stands up and runs as straight as he did at Sundown I cannot see him being beaten .

Think its Tomorrow grass. Don't think Top notch will run (I think you'd rather have him out the way in truth), possibility Thistlecrack goes for the Feltham and hoping that you have the wrong crossed fingers horse down for participation myself. I had it down that it would cut up to 8 runners but hadn't considered they'd run Ar Mad. Any chance they might do a late 360 on Djackadam taking his place in the line up ? He's another who I think you'd rather stay in Ireland Grass.

Kauto if you don't mind me asking do you record going stick readings yourself or is there somewhere you can find the past readings in the form ?

Thanks Kauto that's a site I've heard a lot about from speed figure guys I'll have to check it out as I've kept meaning to do. So stuck in my ways I tend to keep thinking I'll have a look at new things and then keep reverting to what I know

Just updated the link above for Tizzards comments and its the Kauto star chase not the Feltham or have I fell victim to another name change.

Haha ah bum I'm sure I read an article the other day that said after his disappointing run on his comeback that he might go back and run in the novice event. I was struggling to find the article and googled it. Found that one and thought that was it. Perhaps I've got completely muddled up too many night shifts and too much Alcohol...apologies gents.

Knowing Tizzards style when they come back 1st run from a set back + slowly away!

That hurdle race did what it was supposed to do..sharpen him up.

Now I reckon we'll see the real Thistlecrack who may or may not be good enough to beat Might Bite but to me he is the only possible danger

Yeah must of been just an epic Brain fart as I'll be buggered if I can find the article I thought I'd read ...

Other breaking news though former Actor Ronald Regan set to become president of the United states

Arkle on course for a 5th Gold Cup

and Thomas Edison invents the light bulb.

I literally don't know what you guys would do without me :o:whistle:

Ten left in KG.

Declarations to be released within the hour, though it rather begs the question: why aren’t they released immediately?
