Eight Runners from Two stables, great spectacle but can see this will be the ultimate demise of racing....Next years Derby will have 16 runners from Ballydoyle

Good job they do want to send horses over at this rate - where the hell are all the other trainers - what are they doing?!

I wonder if they'd allow me to have a jog around with them just to make the numbers up. Racing post comments, Danny-held up behind , travelled at a married mans gallop, slight headway, died at the 2 pole.

They're kind of banging their heads against a brick wall taking on Enable and Japan. Ghaiyyath is the only credible other contender among the older horses at this stage but he has had two G1s in quick succession recently and has an alternative target. Prize money is much lower than normal at the moment so connections of other horses with no better than place prospects are going for a prize they have more chance of winning at a lower level.

And who can blame them?

Just aswell O'Brien has got entries!

Ghaiyyath would have been great but couldn't see him winning.

I'd like to have seen them give Volkan Star a crack at it instead of sending him to France the other week.

It’s ridiculous behaviour from the very people who moan about no races, no chances and low prize money but will just as quickly complain about the O’Brien camp cashing in.

So you don't give Magical a chance then DO

I think in a normal year they'd go for it but this isn't a normal year.

Also, Coolmore don't mind sending a mob for a race and they don't seem to mind too much if a hot-pot doesn't run its race.

I'm less inclined to bet in a race in which they're mob-handed as they might just be there to get in the way of something else and spoil the race but they have the money and the horses so are entitled to have their way.

I would fully understand less wealthy connections wanting to avoid them if there are easier pickings elsewhere.

Just wait till I win the Euromillions...

I do, Maxbet.

Especially if the plan is to inconvenience Enable and use Japan as a decoy.

The Race although disappointing in one respect, you can't not be excited by the prospect of what tactic's Ballydoyle will go for...In many way's it feels like O'brien v Dettori

It's ridiculous, nothing from Godolphin, Stoute for two? As much as I love her, Enable is there for the taking I think. Maybe a season too far. I really hope I'm wrong even if means putting up with the IG.

Interesting to see how this plays out tactically now. Whether it makes any difference!

Albeit Enable and Japan line up, but three runners in such a prestigious race is pretty desperate stuff.

I'm so glad she won. Japan struggling from quite a way out it appeared, was that the ground or just not his day? Will she have one more run to make her 'race sharp', before the Arc? If she was mine , definitely.

Japan was very disappointing but credit to Enable. You know she will rock up and run her race.

York next. Tough opponents await for sure!

Can’t take O’Brien’s word as gospel as we all know but he was saying this week that he’s got Japan spot on for today and his two previous runs were set up for today. To run like he did I’d have to assume it’s a ‘bad day’ run worth forgiving. Still couldn’t fancy him over Enable in any race though.

O from 3 head to head, interesting that you fancy the reversal.
Just reckon that Japan needs a stiff test to be seen at his best, yet - for whatever reason - he was ridden for speed today. RM must have had a reason to drop him to the rear as early as he did?
