Balder Success is a horse I've previously been happy to oppose, but his novice chase form has been undeniably good, and he commands attention in a hot-enough looking race.

Balder's is a tidy jumper, the trip will suit, and his Warwick victory is working out very well. TDS wants further than this, Grandouet has something to prove following his UR last time, and the rest are held on form, imo. I think the market has it wrong, and BS rates a decent bet at 7/2.

I really like TDS but yeah, should need further for all that his win over Oscar developed into a sprint. I suppose today is a fact finding mission for him. I think Claret Cloak is overpriced back on a decent surface. Nice to see a reasonable field for this in any event.

I backed balder success last night.

As we saw yesterday yet again, slick jumping is so crucial at sandown.

Even in rp today they are expressing concerns about ground for tds. Really like the horse but can't see this being his race at all

he finishes 2nd a lot when held up..if they are trying his best chance is to lead or contest..has done before and won...doesn't look an obvious leader in this....if they hold him up in this race i doubt he will win..am gambling they lead with him..or i'll lay him off

when i saw how fast they went off i'm glad he was where he was and not leading..still layed half my stake off..leaders went way too fast and handed the race to the winner and 2nd

He might have improved a bit but Captain Conan and Simonsig both put Hinterland firmly in his place last year. No Arkle winner in that.

you have never have a positive word to say towards my picks.. but are always there to make snide remarks..if you've nothing positive to say..then don't bother
what? any examples of this?

wasn't meant to be snide. i felt you'd had some bad luck assuming you'd layed him off without getting the lead. sorry it if came across otherwise.

hinterland for me...should get an uncontested lead

Nothing to beat being right for the wrong reasons

(I ended up having grandouet in doubles/treble. I was screaming for Geraghty to kick on going to two out. Maybe he doubted the horse's stamina, maybe he was over-confident but I reckon Jacob won it at the second last.)

Honestly, he's very good. But I'm tired of all the good horses being with so few trainers. Watching Mullins/Walsh winning every race has a Vettel like tinge to it.

I'm desperate for Flemenstar to win tomorrow.

You'd see closer racing on Willy's gallops than at Navan today. What odds Ruby going through a card one of these days?

There's usually a couple of big field handicap hurdles is there not.

I'm finding it difficult to get going this jumps season. Short priced certs/horrendously difficult handicaps or races like this Henry VIII where I thought six of them had solid claims seem to be the order of the day.

He was wrong last year - completely different horse this .

TDS would have gone close without that mistake - I suspect much better suited by Cheltenham.
