Finally remembered to take my camera with me this morning and took these from pretty much the same spot as the summer ones a few months back. Autumn is really late here this year - we've had a lot of rain and that's kept everything greener longer. After some really shite weather, we struck lucky this weekend with a couple of stunning days - and today's just as beautiful - so thought I'd put these up for those wot like looking at some very lovely Somerset countryside!

Walking up the track at the bottom of the hills below, this was my very amatuerish shot of the early morning sun through Ham Copse!

And about fifteen minutes and a lot of puff later.......:

That place looks gorgeous, wish were I live looked like that.
Don't think there's much demand for a picture of Sheffield City Centre at 7am though :(

Not so sure about that Martin - some of the most fantastic 'Art' photos are city themed!

Of course it's beautiful here on a cold, crisp, sunny morning but the other side is when it's blowing a gale, driving rain and you're ankle-deep in mud.....

More demand than there is for one of St.helens town centre Martin ! There are some fantastic views of Sheffield .

Driving back from a guest stint at Folkestone in the late afternoon, there was the most fantaaaaaastic sunset - miles of brilliant swathes of orange against any icily bright turquoise sky, shot through with the contrails from aircraft passing through. A few hundred people thought it was outstanding enough to video-phone their shots to South Today. It was truly magnificent - made you want to fly off right into it.

Red sky at night - shepherds' delight;
Red sky in the morning - shepherds' warning.

The peacefully-grazing sheep, which really DID look like they had fleeces of gold, will be pretty pleased, then.

Grey - that is Prince of Wales's Road I think on a large 1930s council estate out of town .

My digital camera is on its way so be prepared for some dodgy photos and requests for help in posting them!

I'm not impressed with those workhouses, Ardross. They don't look half Dickensian enough for me. :)

Has anyone been to New England in the fall? It`s a place i`ve always wanted to visit, although if i ever went i`d be more likely to go to Boston in the summer for a baseball fix.

Yes, i've been lucky enough to have visited a few times in the fall and also one summer. If you want to see the best of the fall leaves, then head for Maine or Northern Vermont, as it's less crowded than Mass or New Hampshire. Mid-Sept to very early Oct usually best time but there are loads of 'leaf-peeper' sites to help you.

We took my son and his mate there on summer when they were about 11/12, I think, and they still go on about it as one of their best holidays - and they've both been to Disney etc... It was very simple - swimming in the many lakes, boat trips, a couple of less 'commercial' adventure parks, shopping in Freeport (essential!!) - some of the towns are still very old-fashioned adn have town swimming areas by the lakes. It was just a very relaxing holiday!

I've finally got my digital camera into action so what do I do now? Do I have to use something like photobucket (which I've registered with and don't have a clue how to use - and the tutorials don't seem to work) or is there some other way of posting my photos?
