The producers have confirmed that "Casino Royale" will be a "prequel" to the other movies in the series, allowing them to cast a younger actor in the role of 007. (Please God, not Jude Law or Colin Farrell!!!) The film will open with Bond being promoted to the Double-0 section and getting his first assignment from M.

Director Martin Campbell says they want to move away from the huge visual effects of 'Die Another Day' and make a "grittier, tougher and more realistic Bond film".

They are going to keep the basic plot and the characters of Le Chiffre and Vesper Lynd (although the villains might no longer be working for the Soviets as the makers have no desire to make the film into a Cold War thriller).

There is a rumour that it could be the last Bond film and another that if it works as a period piece they will continue with Bond stories set in the past.

It looks as if Campbell is prepared to settle for other than a U or even a PG rating because when asked about the torture sequences in the book he said that they were essential to the plot and compared them with the dentist scenes in "Marathon Man".

The "Jude Law/Colin Farrell" comment was a joke - the latest industry gossip on the casting of the sixth James Bond (quite possibly bullshit) is that it's now a two-horse race...

Clive Owen and Julian McMahon (aka: Dr Christian Troy of "Nip/Tuck")

It really is that bad. I saw a piece how the film was a fitting conclusion and how the theme of the moviw was realisation and forgiveness etc..

i'd like to burn that too.....

Whats your favorite quote from the Godfather?

"If anything in this life is certain; If history has taught us anything, it's that you can kill anyone."

"My father taught me many things ... keep your friends close, but your enemies closer."

"I've loved baseball ever since Arnold Rothstein fixed the World Series in 1919."

I'm a huge Bond fan despite being passed over several times for the leading rôle but I watched Die Another Day for the first time last Friday.

Utter, utter sh*te. Despite a reasonable performance from my understudy Mr Brosnan, the computer effects were like something out of a games arcade. Dreadfully unconvincing.

Just a thought, if you were in a Bond film, which character would you be and which other forumites would you choose to play your co-stars?

I'll start...

Me: 007+p
Leading lady: Jinnyj
M : Krizon
Q : Merlin
Defence Minister: Brian
Sundry other Bond women: Shadow Leader, Solerina, Diminuendo, etc etc...
Baddie: Phil (he looks the part, believe me)
Oddjob: Ardross

Gosh, weird or what? I saw your name on the tagline and thought, I MUST propose Maurice for the next JB! No, really, honest. We need a bright, sharp-witted, slightly rugged type with years of experience etched (not TOO deeply) in his fascinatingly world-weary face. That's what teaching kids has done for you, Mo - now put it to six-figure use!

Re Oddjob: I take it you've seen Ardross in a bowler, then?

Is that the one with the invisible car Mo? If it is I couldn't agree more - desperation on the part of the makers

If I had my way Christian Bale would get the part

I think first and 2nd part of Godfather are considerably better than the third but the later is a good film for me too.

I was going to watch it and decided not to do so. I am glad I didn't waste my time now.

Well I rather enjoyed Die Another Day. Although I'm somewhat more excited by the prospect of a film which follows the book. The only one thus far to have managed that to any great degree is From Russia With Love.

There are all so f*cking predictable.

Evil meglamaniac bids for World domination........Bond shags some pretty bird(s)........Bond gets himself in a sticky situation......in the nick of time, Bond breaks free and overpowers his captors.........his captors meet an unfortunate demise.....smug comment from Bond......The End.

I repeat, these films are utter bollocks.
