Cracking card tomorrow. I will be in attendance:

3.10 Leopardstown 2,000 Guineas Trial Stakes (Listed) (3yo)

Indian Maharaja likely to go off around 6/4 but will have to be fit to beat Shining Emerald who is too big at 3/1. Its between the two.

3.45 Leopardstown 1,000 Guineas Trial Stakes (Group 3) (3yo)

This is a really good race. Balansiya, Bracelet, Avenue Gabriel and Marvellous could all be Group 1 standard. At the prices I would back Bracelet at 4/1 and marvellous e/w at 10/1.

4.20 7f Follow Leopardstown On Facebook Handicap (50-85) (4yo plus)

Sophisticated Heir HAS to have a day in him off 67 having once ran the now 109 rated Crazy Buddies to 1 3/4 in Cork a year ago. Drawn 1 here if he's ready to go he could make all. If any book chalks up 14/1+ in the morning I'll be going deep in the tank e/w.

What's wrong with you people? If this was a hedging jumping thread there would be 65 replied and 4 arguments already.

Indian Maharaja isn't one to give up on yet. Took 11/2 Avenue Gabriel in the fillies race. Can't back Bracelet the way O'Briens are running.

Top tipping from Slim.

It was Luke-esque punting today. A weaker man would have left the Leop with his tail between his legs after race one. You've got to have a lot of heart (and not a heart attack) in this game.

This Urban Sea family is really something special. A Montjeu filly out of a half-sister to Sea the Stars. Why shouldn't she go to the top?

Galileo, Sea The Stars, All Too Beautiful, Melikah, Wonder Of Wonders, Masterstroke, Vancouverite, My Typhoon, Urban Ocean, Black Sam Bellamy, King's Best......a pretty incredible dam line for a "young" family.

To think when I saw Urban Sea at Royal Ascot all I could think about was the great bumper horses she could have if in the right hands !

I don't see a bet tomorrow but it's a lovely card. I do like Light Heavy. He's an underrated beast.

I think Brendan Duke used to work for Jim Bolger as assistant trainer once upon a time.

Confirmation from the Racing Post:

Bolger filly trained for Triumph in Lambourn

BY RODNEY MASTERS9.17AM 30 JAN 2009

A TONGUE-IN-CHEEK suggestion by a Lambourn trainer to Jim and Jackie Bolger that they should send him Lush Lashes to be trained for the Triumph Hurdle had an unexpected sequel when the couple responded to his request, although not with their Royal Ascot winner.

The Bolger horsebox arrived at Brendan Duke's yard to deliver Rock Exhibition, a filly by Rock Of Gibraltar who won her maiden at the Curragh in August. She has an entry in the JCB-sponsored juvenile championship at Cheltenham, and is due to make her debut over hurdles at Huntingdon on Thursday.

"I'm privileged to have the filly," Duke said on Friday."She's working nicely and has pleased with her schooling over hurdles. I was going to run her at Sandown this weekend but I didn't want to launch her hurdling career on very testing ground.

"She has a nice pedigree, and mentally her head is in the right place. Jim and Jackie Bolger told me to get on and to do what I thought was right for the filly. Now it's up to me to get the job done. I suspect this exercise will be results driven."

He added."Some time ago I playfully remarked to them about Lush Lashes coming over to me for the Triumph, and I consider myself most fortunate to have this filly. We'll take it one step at a time, but Rock Exhibition has shown enough at home to justify a Triumph entry."

The partnership renews an old association. Duke was employed as Bolger's assistant trainer for 20 years prior to his move to Lambourn, where he initially worked for Charlie Mann before setting up his own business.
