Will be going up to Leopardstown for the first time since this meeting last year.

Would be grateful for people's opinions on this quality card tomorrow. It has been another dry day near the course.

Many thanks.

Ground at Leopardstown is going to be remarkable given the weather we have had. Will have a proper look at the card tonight.

I've been raving on about a certain horse Thyne and Thyne Again! I liked it better when he was 10/1 when quoted for this race last week and didn't have a bet. This is short of the trip he'll be best at but this boy is classy. Has to figure where it matters.

Galileo's love Notre Pere is giving a bit too much weight to Pomme Tiepy methinks. Huge card.

I cannot see Notre Pere giving so much weight away to the mare....particularly now the ground has dried out.

In the Woodlands Chase, I can't see Notre Pere overcoming the combination of his penalty and the drying ground either. The two that interest me are Call Bewleys and Kilcrea Castle.

Hopefully the drying conditions will suit the Rothwell horse to a tee. Didn't run too badly against Sky's The Limit, though I have a feeling he wasn't on top form that day (jumping went to pot after a mistake 3 or 4 out) and there could be a good deal more to come having been given a good deal of time off. 10/1 looks a fair price to me.

Kilcrea Castle's form certainly leaves him with a lot of improvement if he's to get in the shake up tommorrow, but he's always had a hell of a reputation and could well make a very decent staying chaser. Whether tommorrow will be his day or not though I'm not at all sure.

Like Bobbyjo, I'm a big Thyne Again fan, though I must admit the drying ground is a concern (especially in light of the fact that it will suit the main danger, at least IMO, Scotsirish).

Gloonan hill at 20s is too big
I like Pomme Tiepy a lot but at over 6/1 Callherwhatyoulike is the value.
Sky's The Limit would nearly be favourite for this, Lenrey is the same horse. 6/1 again great value.
The Budgie showed a good attitude last time and deserves to be favourite - value a bit on the dodgy side.
Dutching Hardy and Al Eile is the way to go. Respect Sizing Europe
but he has a fair bit to prove yet.
I like Gem Daly, but with the stable form I'd hold off.
In the next, remember life is never meant to be easy. There's always time for a drink.
I do like Limestone Cowboy a bit, but he's not top class. Not sure what standard this race is, it could well be good.

I've gone for the following, but of course my Irish form is a bit hazy:

12.50 Sizing Africa [mainly on Luke's tip :what: ]
1.20 Pomme Tiepy
1.50 No bet - no idea which of Scots Irish and Thyne Again is best here and both v short
2.20 The Budgee [5.00 on BF currently]
2.55 Hardy Eustace, small stakes [currently 5.1]
3.30 No bet, if forced, Glenrock Leader
4.00 Royal Spring W&P - I noticed his record with Madden up is pretty good, and only then
Bumper: I'm interested in Checkpoint Charlie at 7.2, and Endless Intrigue

I've only put on some v small stakes so far and will have another think when I see opinions on here - inc for the comp - and prices tomorrow. Cracking card, hope it stays fine and all going have a great day!

Our Bob for me in the novice hurdle

And if The Budgee isnt a stupid price, he looks to be improving fast, and could still be ahead of the handicapper.

Too easy for Thyne Again. Non event...but still a machine.

Fancy Tailors Hall in the next, and Siegemaster in the novice later...where Jack The Bus is a live outsider that shouldn't be discounted

Gutted about Tailors

Jessies horses havent been well this year but she really rated this one. He was going to be a very decent chaser.

he had an engine but fence jumping as no his forte

Oh NO!!! Awful news, about both horses. Dreadful rate of attrition over there lately, so sorry lads
Commiserations to all connections

You're correct suny but ironically I thought today was the first day when he seemed to have it in order...was so impressive at 4, 3 and even 2 out if I recall correctly. It was a novicey fall at the last but head twisted at an awkward angle. Very nasty.

Shame about Call Bewleys...real big chasing sort that would have been an even better horse next year. Rothwell rated him too. Aside from Sizing Europe, it's been a hellish enough day.

Just hope for Harringtons sake that Glenrock Leader being pulled up was nothing serious.

You should have put me in the comp today chaps - four winners from five races I bet in at Leopardstown today! I backed Royal Spring and Checkpoint Charlie to place, but Bellflower Boy and Endless Intrigue to win in their respective races.

A good day, except for the deaths of two fine horses [hope there were no more]

Headstrong, if you were in the competition you would have been mainly betting on Kempton and Kelso - you would only have got one race or maybe two at Leop to pick from and it may have been the wrong one for you

Oh, you mean they had to do certain races? I had a few winners at Kelso and Kempton too btw... mind you that was partly listening to discussion on air before the offs

Thought Siegemaster was an unlucky loser today. Got stuck on the rail around the turn and by the time he got out he was closing but it was too late.

Phew- was The Budgie given a present there!
I doubled my stake this morning too

I aplogise for posting thisw, it looks very insensitive now I know a horse was killed.
I didn't know at the time, was only listening to commentary with no pics

Wasn't given the best ride today today, Powerscourt, but I certainly don't have Siegemaster down as the most genuine type. Looked like he tried to hang in behind the front pair after the last (which he jumped too big anyway) today. That's what cost him the race IMO.

Perhaps trackside, he's an interesting horse in any case. Think the three mile novice at Cheltenham would suit him and he'd be a live outsider
