I would rather like to buy Porta Fortuna as I plan to make her the central broodmare plank of my forthcoming bloodstock empire.

Lacking the necessary readies, I was wondering if anyone would like to give me a secured loan at, say, 10.5% over the next five to ten years to fund her purchase, covering fees, and keep, while we await the first Classic winner from her.

As stated, this is a secured loan and I am putting up Walsworth, my Butler, as collateral.

He's 257 years old, but doesn't eat much and has a cracking Trainers In Form system.

And there was me thinking that - unless you're Coolmore (and how much do they actually make? I've never seen a published balance sheet for their operation) - buying a racehorse was generally as sound an investment as buying a packet of cigarettes. Still, if you can't beat 'em....
