Long Walk Hurdle

I like everything I've seen of her as a trainer, but I still don't understand why Geraghty didn't pull At Fishers Cross up last time, my gut feeling after that race was he might need a good rest, but not according to his trainer who sounded bullish about this event, then again he underperforms. I feel sorry for the horse and his jockey, hope AP is okay. Why Barry never pulled him up last time I will never ever know.:(

I was kicking myself stupid for not backing rds. Especially as I had a fair bet in him last year in same conditions, even though rds was too disappointing for comfort at Newbury

I don't know where they go with AFC. I cant see any reason to expect improvement now and whilst maybe it's just being in comparison with rds in the paddock, he doesn't look like chaser build to me

I was very surprised to see the horse out again so quickly after that mistake last time and was also not sure why BG didn't pull him up. I was pretty sure then, he must have done some sort of damage to his musculature of his hind quarters necessitating treatment. His trainer has run him so she must have felt he was sound enough to take part, but either way, the jumping yesterday showed that either mentally or physically, that mistake has had some sort of impact.

If he can't jump a hurdle, he's no chaser.
Just goes to show without Big Bucks and Solwhit how weak the staying hurdler's are.

It doesn't quite work like that, there's always the possibility that the horse will improve for the large obstacles, simply because he will give them more respect.

I do agree in this instance with the perception that AFC wont cut it as a chaser.

I am very surprised after Newbury they didn't have him exhaustively checked over - he has been jumping like a horse with a problem and looks a shadow of the novice he was nailing The New One up the hill .
