Minella name

Seems to be a few horses with this as part of its name, is there any significance attached to it?

John Nallen campaigned them as pointers, and I think his hotel is in Clonmel.

Hotel Minella would be a favourite haunt among the coursing crew. They used to have big poker games on the top floor. Legend has it that some ambition thieves cleared the place out one night and netted a lot of cash. Nothing reported to the police.....obviously!! Nallen himself spends a hell of a lot on horses each year and his norm would be €40k for a store with his fav stallion being Kings Theatre.

allan potts has a machine which sizes stone etc. its made him millions.

Sizing is a mining term meaning to extract minerals by crushing. Alan Potts invented a machine to do this function and has made millions from it.

And also continues to sponsor the Coursing Oaks championship (Park Coursing) at Powerstown in spite of the many years of bile and intimidation from the likes of Indymedia, ARAN, ICAB, Hunt Saboteurs Association, and other assorted animal-rightist cranks.
I think Minella and Nallen deserve plaudits for their courage and fortitude.

Michael Goff uses the Clondaw prefix. I presume he's from Clondaw in Co. Wexford
