Not such a good day yesterday but fair racing and Does He Know ran into fourth. The saver, though was, funnily enough, Tintintin who framed at a lovely 33/1. How ironic that it should be a hurdler, since I only, really, concentrate upon chasing. Ha.

Rizj - Wolverhampton 6.30 16/1 Ew
I noted this when he finished down the field at Newcastle in June. I had a fond notion that they might aim him at the Stewards Cup but they've raced him lightly and, I should say, disappointingly since to no avail. It is well possible that he could stay the extra furlong but today they're back to 6f again, with a visor installed and back on tapeta. That original Newcastle run was achieved on a mark of 96; he's down to 81 today, a mark too tempting to by-pass.
Golden Flame - Wolverhampton 8.00 22/1 Ew
Top weight here in what is, to be fair, a weak old heat and bottom weight is just 9st 4Lbs. Yes, ninth last time out and shown precious little. Down to an OR of 81 but it's only four runs since a nice second over 2m 2f at Pontefract off 90. Ok, that was on turf but he's run second over this course. Looking at the trainer and jockey stats on the course, there won't be many with a better record (albeit the trainer having had few runners). The odds are just too big and, again, I can't resist.
