Storminhome 2.45 Southwell 14-1 (couldn't get on to the exchange, had to take the sportsbook odds) Done a short head, not worth a place bet -1

Dragon God 3.07 Kempton 97 No real show, probably a race or two too early. -1

Invictus Machin 4.25 Leop 120 Looked big enough just before the off. Just failed to catch the winner, didn't have time to look at the places. -1

Great Bedwyn 4.37 Kempton 40 Well green before the off. Ran a good race in 2nd, 4.4 3 places at the off wasn't worth it. -1

Evies Vladimir 4.55 Leop 32 Ran well but didn't have enough to get to the leaders at the last. -1

Musaytir 7.00 Wolves Well in the 100s. No show. -1

Ruby Red Gove 7.30 Wolves 36 Winner (and the biggest bet of the day, hooray) +36

Running total + 30

Clearly left some money on the table with 4 places from 7 runners, should really have done the Whitcombe/Bedwyn rev forecast, and if Invictus Machin had kicked into overdrive earlier it would have been an even bigger day.

An extra stroke of luck - took the 36 on Ruby at about 6pm. For some reason it wasn't showing on my mobile just before the off, so panicked and topped up at around 20 something. Ended up with double stakes :-) Don't know what happened there, but no complaints!! It's a dead cert they won't all be like this, so have to be a happy Chaumi at this point. #savethebesttilllast

Absolutely Incredible my friend. 18/1 winners don’t happen too often. Well done.

Also Great Bedwyn 2nd at a huge price.,, The forecast £85.20 shame you didn’t do it.

Great stuff

It's official - I hate you.

Au contraire, we make our own luck in this life - absolutely brilliant.

See, that’s where you have me beat. I’d have been so depressed by the - 1s that I’d have thrown in the towel well before before the winner turned up. :). Nice one, though.

Learned many times, you never know which one it is (if any) that'll turn the day. Or the week.

Or where it's going to come from.

In this case, a Wolves Class 5.

The 120-1 shot in the Leopardstown chase, a fast diminishing head 2nd, could have been a day-destroyer...but the positive is if those are going close, you have to feel you're on the right track. Then it's just a matter of time...and you hope not too much time!
