Paddy Power offer on front of tomorrow's RP. Haven't seen yet what the max bet is etc.

Talk about taking a stance.

Luvvly Jubbly.
If like the last three years of these PaddyP Chelt specials, it can be done in the shops too ............... so the max £100 is an -- er -- technicality.

Exactly how ballsy a stand is this though?

There's another 20 races in which to recover any losses, even if there aren't any conditions attached.

Yes, I think it will be soon -- Betvictor and Bet365 have already gone NRNB.
Still, I would hold off on betting this offer from Paddy until he does declare definitely NRNB on the race.
(But I have already this evening done the "Lay Hurricane" at 3.10 part of the plan). :ninja:

Well that's puzzling, because right now on the PaddyP Champ Hrd betting page it clearly states "ANTE POST RULES APPLY".

"Ante-post bets are accepted at quoted prices, up to and including the day prior to the event, on the basis of all in, run or not, entered or not .Therefore selections not taking part in the race/event concerned are losers".

So for the heck of it I have contacted Live Chat.

A chap named Swati ( seemed a bit unsure of the issue at hand) answered my question of "Is PaddyPower NRNB on the Champ Hurdle" with:
"Swati : All the bets placed before the event like in these few days will be counted as ante post."

Mister Slim is correct -- a quick look at oddschecker.com tells me that Paddy is NRNB on the race.
(Seems Paddy's website techs -- and Swati -- aren't aware of this).
Lads, Corals, Hills, Stans, have yet to join the NRNB club.

Doesn't Paddy seem to be taking a view about Hurricane; as well as this offer, he is also best price at 7/4 as against a general 6/4 ( Ladbrokes as low as 5/4).

Listen up-my firm 1st with non runner no bet, and we lay any horse at Cheltenham to lose ten grand to any client-just like that. No gimmicks

Cant exactly recall but haven't pp called this right more often than not?

And it is a ballsy stand. Second biggest betting race ? And one of the 2 or 3 best backed horses of the week?

Obviously it's not going to bring pp down but there were others they could have taken on ...

Not bad overall is it? Thought they might have gone for the supreme fav this time or maybe bobs worth myself, although I wouldn't lay either.

I think they rightly predict hf is going to be beat

As far as anyone can like a bookmaker I really do like pp. they make me laugh and hats off for their campaigns. I'm hardly a manic big numbers punter but I have an account with them and their prices and deals are usually very competitive to my eyes

Last year I told the wife to take advantage of their free £50 for new customers offer and due to a technicality she managed to do it wrong.

She phoned them up and no questions asked they gave her the £50. I know it's good long term marketing but not all bookies would do the same.

Anyway, while I have a saver on the Fly and Grassy wouldn't thank me for saying as much - I think they've got it right this time too.

With 3 or 4 rock solid alternatives I reckon they'll be safe.

I had a little issue with them over a mistake I made and they were superb. Friendly and laughed it off.

Used them for years both internet and phone but they virtually closed me down after getting on a bit of a roll. Long term it’s their loss as have given it back to others, but do miss them. Their offers are great, are always first to refund on unlucky losers etc. and their ‘no chavs at Cheltenham’ ad is a classic

Also laughed my bits off when they put paddy power in 10ft white letters on the hill overlooking Cheltenham

They will get shat all over from a great height.................but they will also have recovered every penny of returned stakes before they pass the post in the Grand Annual.

Yes, they are sticking their necks out. However, I think they will always be looking for something to take on in one of the televised races on the first day of the festival, so the choice this year was between MTOY, Simonsig or the Fly.
