Moscow Flyer

Still don't think we ever saw the best of him, because even at the very highest level, he was never really all-out to win.

If only Azertyuiop hadn't dragged his back leg in the water in 2005. I feel he'd have made the great horse pull that little bit more out.

RIP

Great horse, thrill to watch

that tingle creek was some race.

about his place in the division, very close to the top
i rated him equal to azertyuiop and Master minded , but not as good as Sprinter Sacre.

to be fair there aren't many that much better than azertyuiop or well chief when in pomp..and MF beat them when they were in their pomp

like Edgt says..his hurdling weren't bad either

Yes, would like to see him up against Master Minded and Sprinter Sacre at their best. He loses on ratings but .... I dont know....

His hurdling was only ok compared to what he did over fences. To me it was his bravery/stupidity and willingness to chance a long one that made him so exciting.

Remember going to Jessica's with a small group of friends and after a couple of snifters in the kitchen with Johnny we went outside to walk to the gallops. In the warming up area was a lone horseman, it was Eamonn warming up Moscow Flyer, Had a quick chance to rub the old boy's nose and say hello ( and the horse  ), real privilege.

edit....forgot to add this photo, not sure who to credt, maybe a Healey ? Anyways it's from Jessica's Twitter feed this morning

When you consider his size, stride and sheer athleticism anything seemed possible to the horse.
Two milers have that inherent bravery that they know no fear and have no memory of any tumble.
Proof, as i said before that God is an NH fan and two mile chasers his chosen creatures !

Loved the horse. He was the one that got me hooked on NH racing really because it always sent shivers down my spine watching him race. If he stood up, he won. Great memories. RIP Moscow

One of my first ever bets was when he beat Seebald in The Arkle and after that I was hooked. As mentioned before the chance of him absolutely clouting one only made the spectacle even more thrilling. An absolute legend of a horse and without doubt there should be a good 2 mile chase with his name on it in no time.

RIP old boy.

Agreed. Whilst it's a top race in it's own right, the 2m novice hurdle on the ICH card which Moscow's name is attached too, does look a little out-of-context, given the great horse's achievements in steeplechases.
