Whereas Erhaab slowed down less than the rest and eventually got to the front, Rooster Booster arrived pulling treble and quickened clear.

Looked better than they were? Except when the race was extremely strongly run, thats exactly how good they were.

pace collapse stop horses running their best and so means less challengers in the last half of the race..hence you can get large margin winners as others are tired out that would normally be challenging for places

a bit like the 2000 guineas..how many challengers did Frankel have late on and where did they come from?...because all those on or near the pace ...which were most of em as the pace was that strong it even damaged those in the middle of it ...were totally shagged

Rooster Boosters CH was similar story..the early fractions in that race to halfway are scarey..no wonder hardly any late challengers came to him

what i mean by.. better than they were... is that the winning and place distances get exaggerated

then again..i'm probably wrong..i usually am
