New Lib Dem Leader

He says he hasn't had a drink for two months but I reckon it would have helped him a lot more if he'd been in a position honestly to declare he hadn't had a drink for two years.

Indeed, maybe even one year would have helped. Kennedy was certainly on the bevy in November, so him saying that he's sorted it is a bit premature.

I think his senior party colleagues, not to mention his wife, have shown great restraint recently regarding his antics. He's looked well out of it since the election.

I sat next to Charles Kennedy at dinner (there were a bunch of politicians there) and then at the Globe theatre to see a performance of Anthony & Cleopatra. He had to rush off early to go up to Scotland though to do something to do with his taking over as leader of the Liberal party - that's how long ago it was!

Useless bit of info, as I'm well aware....

Always seemed a decent bloke with the ability to laugh at himself. That, of course, is not the ideal profile for a politician. I wish him luck.

Anyone else interested that Shadow Leader has the bare faced affrontery to use a line from 'The Sound of Silence' as her strap line? B)

Something interesting is going on. Ming campbell was disasterous at PMQ today. He's drifting on Betfair. Huhne, Clegg and Hughes shortening. Was PMQ the David Davies moment?
