For those interested in Point To Point racing a new forum has been launched today with the very hard task of trying to replace the very much missed Pointing Forum on Jumping For Fun a nigh impossible task but at least some one has tried. It does retain the very popular season long Hunterchase Competition and raising money to Sponsor Hunterchases as far and wide as possible with the aim of trying to sponsor as many as they can acheive in 2025.
Here is the link to the New Forum should you wish to join Home | Pointing Pointers

Very much looking forward to it, G. Hopefully a few members will look in and get some tips for Hunter chases next spring.

The Hunter Chase sponsorship was one of the huge successes of the previous forum with seven races sponsored last season, all organised by your good self, G. A brilliant effort and it did a lot to raise the profile of the forum and pointing. Indeed, Taunton had its biggest entry for many years for the one run there in February and Bob Young, the course manager cant wait for the next one. Anyone interested in sponsoring, should get in touch with Gullible. It’s a great day out and we were treated extremely well by the course having access to the OT facilities, choosing the best turned out and presenting the trophy. I’d highly recommend it!

I have already spoken with ALL the courses that we sponsored a Hunterchase at last year and they ALL want us back in 2025 so we must have behaved ourselves :cool::cool:

The much loved "MANGE" from the JFF Pointing Forum is back and has had over 1.2K views in one month and he is +13.25 points up ;)

Here is an update on the Hunterchases being sponsored by Pointing Pointers who have now been joined by the Nick Luck Daily Podcast in sponsoring the following 8 races.

Ludlow 05/02/25
Leicester 13/02/25
Wincanton 26/02/25
Catterick 05/03/25
Fakenham 14/03/25
Kempton 01/04/25
Hexham 14/04/25
Stratford 30/05/25

As footnote Mange is currently + 96

WOW what a race our second sponsored race of the season is "Pointing Pointers Dick Saunders Novices' Hunters' Chase 10 declared for what is one of the most competitive Hunterchase races for a long time.

I know that I am biased because we are sponsoring it but probably the most competitive Hunterchase’s seen in many a year ! ! It must be good because some people who are experts on Hunterchase’s are not even commenting on it anywhere ……..not even in chitchat

Mange currently + 148.00 !!

I better step up then!!

Can't get away from Mr Glass judged on his win last time - pure class and in the best hands too. Unless our old friend JJ has miraculously "improved" (or should it be enhanced?) his runner......

It's a really interesting nostalgic look back at yesterday's meetings. I read one recently which mentioned a horse called Silver Too. Now this was the horse that won me 60p on my first ever bet (think I was about 6 years old!) at the Curre Point to Point at Howick. I was into princesses and grey horses etc in those days and wanted to put a bet on the grey in the race. There was a very close finish and the grey was just denied. Turned out my dad had backed Silver Too for me but he was a bay....and he got the verdict so I won! I was so impressed that I announced to my parents I was going to be a racehorse trainer (and actually managed it even if circumstances dictated I didn't achieve as much as I hoped). I even named my business Silver 2 Racing. So it was lovely to read about the horse, all these years later.
