Bringing a gang of 19 to Newmarket tomorrow night (most of them think its a Van Morrison concert ) so any help to the "give me a winner" question will be most welcome. Suffice to say none of them were with me in the rain at Galway and Ballinrobe in the last 2 weeks. On the plus side the stout in Knock Airport is palatable.......

Bringing a crowd of 19 anywhere suggests you must be out of your mind. My tip is to ensure that is the case by continuing to drink as much palatable stout as you can find throughout the trip.

It is 26 for Cheltenham in January every year, I am like a mini tour operator for the local boozer. I will renew my acquaintance with John Smith for the weekend as I struggle with a lot of the beer in the UK and cider is only a breakfast drink.

Only beaten by a respectable 2 lengths I think. Intrepid was a half length behind the winner in second. (Will I ever learn to cover my money with a place bet? )
